Gamification: Points

How to set up and assign points.

Points serve as the foundation for our gamification feature.

  • From the school login go to "menu" > "learning" > "points":
    • Points play a crucial role in determining the leaderboard statistics and the badges that are assigned. They can be automatically assigned by the system or manually by an instructor. Each school level login establishes the foundation for the game.

Step 1:  Leaderboard View:

  • Choose how you want the students to view the leaderboard:
    • "Default" shows only that individual student's points.
    • "Teacher Only" shows just that teacher's students.
    • "ALL Students" show every student in the school.

Step 2:  Decide what system points you want enabled:

  • Enable or disable the points you wish the system to monitor by clicking on the "edit" option located on the far right of the screen.

  • There are four types of automatic/system generated points:
    • Login (points for when a student logs in): Choose how often per day to award points

    • Practice (points for practice intervals): choose how often to reset points for practice timer

    • Attendance (points for attending a lesson/class): choose how many points a student receives for attending a lesson or class

    • Practice Assignment (points for marking "I'm Done" on an assignment): Give Points when a student completes an assignment

    • Add Parameter: Teachers have the ability to manually assign custom point parameters to students, allowing for personalized recognition and rewards within the gamification feature.
