Information regarding payment data transfer for the U.S.

Transferring Credit Card and Payment Data in the United States is possible through our payment gateway NMI. 

We do not transfer card information, only the encrypted tokenized data.

Note: Once the data is transferred TeacherZone will provide you with a spreadsheet for all your students and parents so you can properly map payment data from provided tokenized gateway CSV and TZ family data.

If you are an Open Edge customer, here's directions to transfer tokens the NMI gateway:

  1. Click here to start the data transfer process from OpenEdge.
    1. Please note, under New Processing Gateway the merchant will fill in "NMI - TeacherZone".
  2. Once Data Transfer is complete, you will receive an email from OpenEdge stating the transfer has been completed.
    1. Please forward this email to merchantservices@usag-inc.com and CC the email support@teacherzone.com

If transferring from other providers to our NMI gateway here are directions:

  • General information on data import:
    • All data imports must be approved by the primary contact at the affiliate partner
    • We can import customer card data from third parties into your customer vault.
      • Note: we do not audit/filter said file and it is the responsibility of the merchant and/or the data holder to provide us with a complete file including only the records they wish to have imported.
    • Data we receive should be encrypted using our public PGP key which can be found by clicking on this link.
    • Encrypted data should be sent to: support@nmi.com

Here is a high-level overview of how the token transfer process works. The merchant will send the tokens directly to NMI, but it is important to involve merchant services so they can provide the necessary management approval that NMI requires. We recommend that the merchant contacts merchant services first so that we can open a ticket with NMI.

  1. The merchant/ Teacherzone can email merchant services to start the transfer discussion
    1. This is done by emailing BOTH merchantservices@usag-inc.com and CC'ing support@teacherzone.com
  2. Merchant service will open a ticket with NMI 
    1. USAG Management needs to approve the import request (per NMI requirements).
  3. Merchant services will need to provide the merchant/ TeacherZone with:
    1. The NMI ticket number 
    2. TeacherZone gateway ID: 345665
    3. PCI AOC for NMI  (see here)
    4. Public PGP Key- https://secure.nmi.com/merchants/Import-PGP.asc         
    5. NMI email address: support@nmi.com
  4. The company transferring the tokens should reference the ticket number (listed in 3a) and gateway ID (listed in 3b) in their email to NMI. 
  5. The tokens are imported to the TeacherZone vault. 
    1. TeacherZone is responsible for ensuring that the imported tokens are correctly linked to the relevant users and merchants.
    2. To utilize the token transfer process, the merchant must first sign up with USAG for processing and obtain a gateway login.
